few random questions
On the wiki it shows Deldrimor armor as being really quite bright red. Ingame I can't seem to make it this colour. Sometimes when putting on a piece after zoning it will flash the bright red for a half second before reverting to whatever it's dyed as. How do I force it to be bright red, is it possible at all? please, help, someone!
Also, I would like to know- I currently have Trilogy+EotN. Is it possible to upgrade to collector's edition without buying a full collector's edition version of the game, like, are there upgrade keys for standard -> collector's? If not, and I do get a collector's edition box, will I be able to upgrade my current account to it (to get kuun etc)? Last edited by Ariana Seratu; Feb 17, 2010 at 10:26 PM // 22:26.. |

Before the dye system was changed, all armors had a base color. They all had different colors by default, but were all changed to gray after the dye system was changed. My guess is that red is the default color of Deldrimor armor, but gray is applied over it. I don't know how to attain that shade, or if it's possible. Different types of armor dye differently depending on their material, whether they are cloth, hide, metal, tattoos, etc.

Armor: have you tried to mix various colors?
Collector editions: afaik there are no keys to upgrade normal versions to a collector's edition. You can buy a CE and add the key to your account, but you only get the extra's that way... for example: adding the Factions CE will give you the Kuunavang minipet and the 2 special dances for Assasin and Ritualist. The rest stays the same: no extra slots, etc. |

i've tried mixing all sorts... red, red+red+red+orange, ""+silver etc, all of it is just... more, um, dull, in appearance, than the colour displayed in the wiki, by quite a margin... dunno what else to do really r-r-r-o is not far off but is still paler and more oranger quite noticably, can't get any closer with dye, so i was wondering if there was another way to somehow revert it to 'default' colour, which it is, cause like i said if its equipped it'll briefly appear as that bright red before it loads what you've dyed it as

The only other way I know of is TexMod if dye can't create that color. TexMod will be able to retrieve the default bright red texture if it does display, and then you can substitute that.

So I looked up texmod, unfortunately that only modifies what i would see... but if noone else sees it, that rather defeats the point of having it, to me at least. It's an idea though, and i'll keep it in mind, thanks.

That is the problem with dye... sometimes you see too many cool combinations, which makes it hard to pick one. And sometimes every combinations you try are boring and not really worth applying.
The default color is currently grey (since the dye upgrade). That is IMO not an option either... i suggest you keep on trying various mixes till you find something that is worth applying the dye to. Sometimes weird combinations can give cool effects. |

The pictures on wiki of that armor isn't of ingame models. You can't get that color.

Yeah I agree with Covah. Try the other wiki (guildwars.wikia.com). The official wiki has renders of armors using colours that are not representative of in-game possibilities.
